What to know before your first visit

What should I bring?

  • Closed-toe shoes or boots – Safety first around horses! Please no sandals or open-toed shoes.

  • Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing – Layers are best. It can get super warm and cold!

  • Water bottle – Staying hydrated is important.

  • Snacks – Especially for longer sessions; please bring something light and nourishing.

  • Hat and sunscreen – The sun can be strong during the day.

  • Journal or notebook (optional) – Many participants enjoy writing reflections after their session.

What should I leave at home?

  • Pets – for the safety of all animals here, please leave dogs and other pets at home.

What to expect during your visit:

  • Warm welcome & orientation – You’ll be greeted by our team and introduced to the space.

  • Consent-based interactions – All activities with horses are grounded in respect and mutual consent. You’ll learn how to listen and connect safely.

  • A safe, supportive environment – No prior horse experience is required. Our facilitators guide you every step of the way.

  • Nature connection – The ranch is nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains overlooking Monterey Bay; expect fresh air, open skies, and a peaceful environment.

Unfortunately, Google Maps and Apple Maps direct visitors to the backside of our property, where there is no road access. If you have Waze app, feel free to use that.

To ensure you arrive smoothly, please follow these directions.

If it takes you to the Land of the Medicine Buddha you’re on the wrong road. Plug Fairway Dr. Soquel, CA into your GPS

  1. Destination: Soquel, CA. You can put into your Google Maps that you are going to Fairway Drive in Soquel.

  2. Starting Point: Make your way to Fairway Drive.

  3. Proceed: Travel to the top of Fairway Drive until you reach the end of the road, where you'll find a locked gate.

  4. Gate Code: Enter the code 4451 to open the gate.

  5. After Entry: Immediately take a right, then a left up the hill. Follow the road to the top.

  6. Landmarks: Look for our address, 5017, marked by a silver horse trailer. Pass the trailer, then take a sharp left to our designated parking area.

  7. Parking: Park your vehicle in the pasture near the other cars. Please park closely enough to allow space for everyone.

  8. Final Steps: After parking, walk up our driveway to the ranch.

  9. Head to our greeter and sign waiver.
